Everyone has a soft spot for their favorite spot for hot chicken. A perfectly flavorful, crispy piece of fried chicken has something to say – it can fill any hole in your heart. So it makes sense that Drake, the Number one soft boi (and Lover Boy, Certified) loves his hot chicken spot so much that he decided to put his money where his mouth is.

It was revealed on Monday that Drake has invested in Los Angeles-based Dave’s Hot Chicken. Corresponding Bloomberg, Drake is one of the chain’s largest investors and has an interest in the company. Existing investors in the company include Samuel L. Jackson and Boston Red Socks Chairman Tom Werner.

Dave’s Hot Chicken started as a pop-up in 2017before opening a store in East Hollywood. Just four years later there is 22 locations throughout California and in Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, and Portland. And growth doesn’t stop anytime soon. Similar to Drake himself, the chain plans to expand in the US and Canada. The company has sold franchise rights for 500 locations. Chances are you’ll soon be able to try Drake’s favorite hot chicken in a town near you.

“I tried the food and it was amazing,” Drake said in the Announcement of his investment. “After meeting the founders and hearing their story, I took the opportunity to invest.”

If you’re wondering what to order when the chain opens near you, Dave’s specializes in hot chicken tenders and sliders, with seven different levels of spice. The hottest option, reaper, requires a signed meal waiver.
