Gold prices today at 45,390 rupees per 10 grams, silver tends to be 61,600 rupees per kg
The price of 22 carat gold on Saturday slipped from 45,780 rupees on Friday to 45,390 rupees for 10 grams, and according to the Good Returns website, silver was 61,600 rupees per kg.
The price of gold jewelry varies across India, the second largest consumer of the metal, due to consumption taxes, government taxes and fees.
In New Delhi, the price of 22-carat gold fell to 45,550 rupees per 10 grams, while in Chennai it fell to 43,710 rupees. The Mumbai price tag is Rs 45,390, according to the website.
The price of 24-karat gold dropped from 46,780 rupees in Friday’s trading session to 46,390 rupees per 10 grams on Saturday.
Silver posted a decrease from Rs 1,200 to Rs 61,600 on Saturday from Rs 62,800 per kilogram on Saturday.
The Indian rupee rose 6 paises to 73.46 against the US dollar in opening trading on Friday, following a steady trend in domestic stocks.
In the world market, recently released US CPI data showed a slight improvement that kept the gold market low. However, gold and silver prices rose in international markets.
