Gold (24 karat) sells in India on Saturday for 46,470 rupees per ten grams, up 980 rupees from the previous trade.
According to the Good Returns website, silver is selling for Rs 59,500 per kg, a decrease of Rs 1,200 from yesterday’s trading price.
The price of gold jewelry varies in India, the second largest consumer of the metal, due to excise duties, government taxes and fees.
In New Delhi and Mumbai, 10 grams of 22-karat gold were sold for Rs 45,550 and 45,470, respectively. In Chennai, the yellow metal sold for 43,920 rupees, according to the website.
In Delhi, 10 grams of 24-karat gold sells for 49,700 rupees and in Mumbai the price is 46,470 rupees.
In Chennai, gold is selling at Rs 47,910 this morning. For Calcutta the price is Rs 48,550.
