Gold prices today at Rs 47,490 per 10g, silver sales at Rs 64,800 per kg
Ten grams of 24-karat gold sold at 47,490 rupees on Thursday, 20 rupees below yesterday’s trading price. Silver was valued at 64,600 rupees per kg, according to the Good Returns website, 400 rupees from yesterday’s trading price.
The price of gold jewelry varies across India, the second largest consumer of the metal, due to consumption taxes, government taxes and fees.
In New Delhi and Mumbai, 10 grams of 22-karat gold were sold for 46,600 rupees and 46,490 rupees, respectively.
In Chennai, the yellow metal sold for Rs 44,740, according to the website.
In New Delhi the price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold was 50,840 rupees. In Chennai it trades at Rs 48,810. The price in Mumbai is Rs 47,490 while in Calcutta it is Rs 49,600, according to the website.
