Pobjoy 2021 coins in honor of children’s author David Walliams
The Pobjoy Mint has issued the second coin in a new series of 50 penny coins celebrating the works of internationally acclaimed children’s book author David Walliams, issued on behalf of Gibraltar.
The second coin in the series The World of David Walliams contains Walliams’ second novel, Mr. Stink, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books. The story is about a young girl named Chloe who befriends a funny tramp named Mr. Stink.
The reverse of the coin features the image of the novel’s title page and in full color to match the original Quentin Blake illustrations.
Mr. Stink, Walliam’s second novel, was published in 2009. It is said that this is the book that really got him famous, and it has been adapted as a stage musical and a televised film by the BBC.
Walliams’ stories revolutionized reading for children, and he is one of the most influential children’s authors today, according to the Pobjoy Mint.

The new 50 penny coin 2021 is available in the versions copper-nickel or proof .925 fine silver.
The copper-nickel version is delivered in colorful presentation packaging, the silver version in a box with a certificate of authenticity.
The exclusive image of Queen Elizabeth II’s Pobjoy Mint appears on the obverse of the coins, which weigh 8 grams and measure 27.3 millimeters in diameter.
The copper-nickel version has an edition of 7,500 pieces and the silver version is limited to 1,999 pieces.
