Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay jumped into Ben Shepherd’s arms after bagging a whopping £ 20,000 at Tipping Point.

The 48-year-old actress appeared on the celebrity quiz show special last September to raise much-needed funds for charitable Christmas dinners, and viewers relived the iconic moment when the episode re-aired yesterday.

The studio audience was on the edge of their seats when Sally’s first two coins failed to top the jackpot counter, giving her a chance at a big win.

After seeing the penultimate coin not moving any of the counters, Mount Pleasant star 46-year-old host Ben looked at the machine as it declared, “I loved this game.”

Trying to get morale up before the final counterattack, Ben said, “Right, one more. Drop zone four?”

Sally, who played Shelley Unwin for the Cobbles from 2001 to 2006, focused on the last chance and replied, “Yes, please, Ben” as she pressed the button to toss the coin into the machine.

When the counter fell, the former soap star believed it was game over when the coin fell to the opposite side of zone four, where the jackpot counter stuck.

To keep the mood going, Ben insisted, “Don’t give up just yet! A little sideways, it might squeeze all the way.”

Luckily for Sally, a silver coin was pushed onto the second shelf and Ben said, “The question is, is that black counter going to push it forward?”

As the words left his mouth, the jackpot counter was tipped over the edge and Sally jumped into Ben’s arms for joy.

The Corrie star was then piqued as she tried to come up with the words to celebrate the jackpot bagging for charity.

An overwhelmed Sally shared, “I can’t believe it! I can not believe it!

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at this and left, ‘Oh, it won’t go over for her,’ and it went over for me. Many Thanks.”

To which Ben concluded: “Our pleasure. £ 20,000!”
