Zinnia’s first annual Christmas pop-up and gift market is featured in Washingtonians Summary of Winter bars and restaurants in the DC area:
Silver Spring’s new restaurant and garden, which is taking over the historic premises of Mr. K’s Tollhouse, are ready for winter. Before Christmas, every Friday to Sunday there is a Christmas market with handicrafts, hot drinks and more. Guests can make reservations in the extensive gardens at heated picnic tables on the patio or around fire pits, with warming items such as crab dip and braised short rib sliders.
“We’re going to have a local craft market for your Christmas gifts, s’more kits, ornaments for the kids, hot drinks and lots of Christmas cheer,” said Justin Kaplan-Markley, Zinnias Director of Operations, in an email to the source earlier this month.
Takoma Bev Co. owner Chris Brown opened Zinnia on October 1st at the former location of Mrs. K’s Toll House at the intersection of Colesville Road and Dale Drive in Silver Spring. Ms. K has closed and was offered for rent last year after being in business for 90 years.
